JCFC went into the game with confidence as the last meeting vs. then league-leading Parma resulted in City's best games of the season, followed by a an off-season friendly that resulted d in the first summer win for City when CE showed with a questionable keeper.City got the first strike in, on a swift service from George on the right blank, as the ball was not handled by the CE keeper, Seba got his head onto he ball which found Larry's tapping it in to the back of the net. The match nearly turned ugly, as the Gaffer, in at the top looking for a score himself, was caught by a flying elbow to the mouth by CE's defending giant, but as the ref swallowed his whistle, the lack of call and taste of his own blood prompted a quick and devastating tackle by Hidalgo that put the CE man up in the air and onto the ground for a few minutes. City players quickly called for the gaffer to step off and cool off, and off he went only to receive a yellow card, not for the tackle, but for substituting without permission from the man in black. City countered again and again in the second half, only to be called, on toss'em up calls for offside, until in the late stages of the 2nd half Jerry "The Beast" took a ball down the right flank, drew the two defenders to him and slyly crossed it into the path of an oncoming Shesh, who calmly slipped the ball past the rogue goalkeeper for JCFC's fourth and final goal.JCFC 4-1 Central EspanolMan of the Match.
