1st Home Game 9/17--be there at 8am

We've a number of injured players and a couple of guys out of town.. we need everyone to be at Lincoln Park on time... game starts at 9am, please be there at 8am.

JCFC goes down the shore and takes 3 points from Lacey Strikers

Not an apt name as John said.

We played well and suffered a few injuries in the process.

Joe is on Injured Reserve

The early going saw The Merchantiers’s dominance, as Lacey rarely crossed midfield. A fair number of chances were lost by JC as the shots went high or wide.

Halfway through the half, Meshesha fed a sweet pass through the defense to Sebastian who put it in the back of the net, but the referee called an offside that just might have been.

Late in the first half, Juan scored the first goal of this inaugural season.. A pass from Meshesha to Cos, his shot blocked, bounced and a lucky ball landed at Juan’s feet with time to switch legs, set it up and blast it past the keeper at the near post.

Early in the second half, some confusion clearing the ball from a corner kick resulted in a dribbler across the line for the tie from Lacey Strikers.

JCFC settled down and despite Lacey’s superior strength in sub numbers, kept up the attack.

Again, JCFC had many chances, including a ball that clanged off the post and several that scurried across the goal line without one of the men in yellow able to poke it in.

Soon after, Sebastian followed with a pretty goal, after a flick over the defense from George set him free down the flank, the keeper came out and Seba calmly lifted it over the keeper’s head and into the net.

Meshesha followed with a half volley into the far post after the ball bounced around the box following a Cos corner kick—easily goal of the season so far.

Man of the Match:

Carlos Fighetti—he tirelessly ran down all players down his flank, starting at right fullback after an early injury left Jonathan Woodgate (Irish Joe) on the bench prior to the start. Carlos owned the right flank, even taking a few shots (off target, but hey) on goal.

Next game is our first home game—be at Lincoln Park no later than 815am. We need time to warm up and get the field ready—nets must go up, lines must be redrawn and we’ll need a few bags of sand to fill in the puddles at the goals.

See you in Bayonne on wed night for training.

Exit 74 on the Garden state is a 90 minute drive from JC.

expecting i'll have passes for everyone... Who is not available on sunday?
Our roster has 22 guys, and we don't expect to have all 22 dress every week due to work, family and other commitments.
